Manuel Barajas Jr.

Manuel Barajas Jr., affectionately known as “MJ” or Manuelito was born on April 1st 2024 weighing 6lbs 3oz. Sadly, Manuelito was born with a heart defect, a missing left kidney, and a small right kidney, conditions that doctors were unable to treat. The Barajas family, including the late Manuel Barajas and his recently widowed wife Alicia, discussed extensively the options and outcomes concerning their son’s health issues. They made the difficult decision not to let Manuelito suffer and to ensure he experienced love and comfort throughout his life. Manuelito was surrounded by love during his sixteen days of life and will forever be cherished. The Barajas family was able to bring baby MJ home to spend his final moments in the comfort of the family home they created together.

As a recipient of Peyton’s Smile, Alicia extensively researched and wanted a hand painted portrait of her family she will forever cherish and honor. Alicia lost her husband and father of her three children unexpectedly while pregnant with Manuelito. Alicia is finding a way to smile through this special portrait she will forever cherish.
